ATA Academy, the education centre at ATA, has offered training since 1996 for people who work on roads across Sweden, providing them with the skills to work safely on the live network. During 2019, we trained 7,000 participants providing them with competence for higher security and to ensure a safe working environment is always maintained.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Sweden in March it challenged our business which is dependent on people meeting each other. We experienced a severe loss of demand for our classroom training. We experienced a two-week shutdown and then we rearranged our business.
– Continued on site courses with reduced numbers to ensure the required distance between participants is maintained.
– We successfully launched required training online via tools such as: Teams and Zoom.
– We increased our sales of our e-learning product “Work on the road”.
The situation during the Covid-19 pandemic has reduced the previous general resistance towards attending social-distance courses. A significant number of indicators has now shown that our customers accept our online courses, regardless of the current circumstances. As a result, the ATA Academy has increased turnover and has managed to attract new geographic markets.
